"The churches have begun to listen more, and having listened to a reflective evening with Charles at the piano it became apparent to me that we need to not only listen but be willing to reflect. Only after listening and reflecting can we begin to know what God may require."  Revd Richard Emblin, Vicar of St Mary's Church, Cowes.

Charles Timberlake

Be moved….. be calmed….. be inspired….. be uplifted…..

Charles gentle, reflective music and unique style of playing bring a sense of deep inner peace into the heart of the listener.

Charles started formal piano lessons at the age of six and began improvising and composing eight years later.  It was not until his mid-twenties that people gained access to his soulful music through performances of two musicals he scored.

He was encouraged to record his first album of solo piano compositions, Between the Worlds, in 1991.  Nine years ago he met songwriter, composer and musical director John Daniels.  Since that meeting they have collaborated on six CD albums of piano and instrumental music, with John adding orchestral arrangements to Charles’ piano tracks.

Their latest album, A Time for all Things - a collection of their own compositions, worship songs, hymns and well known ballads - was released in April 2010.  This compilation, which includes for the first time their arrangements of popular ballads alongside religious pieces, has appeal to those of all faiths and none; and it is hoped that in these troubled times, where many are experiencing hardship, their music may provide an encouragement for the listener to reflect and to deepen their relationship with God.

Their music is played regularly on Radio 2’s Good Morning Sunday with Aled Jones.

Preferring to call it 'An Evening with Charles Timberlake' Charles plays and talks about his life and music. An atmospheric evening, serious yet light-hearted, the audience is treated to a range of his own compositions, worship and popular songs, interspersed with stories and anecdotes along with a joke or two!  Charles can also perform piano recitals and play at other events.

Should a grand piano not be available on location Charles brings a Kurzweil electronic piano and accompanying equipment.

"The album title conveys the over-riding theme they [Charles and John] have strived for, with the intention being that listening to it is 'an opportunity to reflect on the fact that our lives richly encompass all different aspects of everything and everybody'. The variety of core material is impressive, all the tracks work well and the self-penned ones easily hold their own. An interesting, entertaining and ultimatley soothing listen."
